Overview

What is .green

The word green names the color, and in many languages it has also come to mean anything that respects the environment: farming, clean energy and recycling. .green entered the internet’s root in 2014 and is run by Identity Digital Limited; it is a short word everyone knows, and its color carries its meaning.

.green suits plant nurseries and farms, solar energy companies, tree-planting and clean-up initiatives, agricultural engineering offices, recycling plants, and stores selling natural products. At mashtal-jahra.green, visitors know there’s a tree and seedling nursery in Jahra before they see a single seedling.

With us the first year comes with an offer, and the renewal costs several times as much, higher than most of our extensions. The word promises care for the environment, so don’t use it if your work isn’t like that. If your customers are in Kuwait, name your city or area in the name before it, so they know you’re close to them.

Tips

Before you register

  1. 1Don’t make green just a sloganIf your work isn’t eco-friendly, customers see the promise and don’t find it.
  2. 2Name what you grow, or wheremashtal-jahra.green says what you offer and where, so customers from your area come.
  3. 3A short name, read as it’s writtenIf it needs spelling out on the phone, it’s too long or too complicated.
  4. 4No digits or hyphens that need explainingEvery hyphen or digit has to be said, and what has to be said gets forgotten.
  5. 5Renew automatically, or register for yearsUp to 10 years at once, so you never miss a date.
  6. 6Make sure the name isn’t someone else’s trademarkA registered trademark’s owner can recover the name from whoever registered it first.
