Overview

What is .solutions

solutions is an English word for answers to problems, and it often appears in the names of companies that serve a customer with a problem: software and systems, power and network installation, or management and accounting advice. A name in it tells the customer you came to solve what worries them.

.solutions entered the internet’s root in 2013, is run by Binky Moon, LLC, and supports DNSSEC signing and names in Arabic letters. With us its price starts with a first-year offer, and renewal costs clearly more, so count the cost of the following years before you print the name on your quotes and vehicles.

Its word is fairly long, and it has spread so much through company names that it has become general; it doesn’t say what your field is, only that you offer solutions. So make the name before it state the field: kuwait-tech.solutions is clearer to a customer than a name that says nothing about what you do.

Who it suits

For your field: is .solutions the best fit?

Every field has an extension that says something about it. Here is what .solutions says in each, and which extension completes it.

  • A tech and software company

    Good · A good fit

It says you solve your customer’s problem; .tech says the solution is technical.

    Register it with.solutions.tech

  • Solar power installation

    Good · A good fit

The customer is looking for someone to cut the electricity bill with the sun’s power, and the name promises a solution; .solar states the field.

    Register it with.solutions.solar

  • A consulting office

    Good · A good fit

It says you offer a solution, not working hours; .com stays first for large companies.

    Register it with.solutions.com

  • A services company in Kuwait

Good · A good fit with .support

.solutions says what you offer, and .support is for the help page your customer in Kuwait comes back to.

    Register it with.solutions.support

  • An online store

    Consider another · Consider .store

The buyer is looking for goods, not a solution; .store or .shop tells them what they want.

    Register it with.store.shop

  • A blog or personal site

    Consider another · Consider .blog

The word solutions on a personal page suggests a company, not a writer.

    Register it with.blog.me

Tips

Before you register

  1. 1Make the name say your fieldThe extension doesn’t say what you solve, so name your field before the dot, as in kuwait-tech.solutions.
  2. 2Keep the word solutions in the extension aloneDon’t write it before the dot too, or the name grows long and repeats itself.
  3. 3A short name, read as it’s writtenIf it needs spelling out on the phone, it’s too long or too complicated.
  4. 4No digits or hyphens that need explainingEvery hyphen or digit has to be said, and what has to be said gets forgotten.
  5. 5Renew automatically, or register for yearsUp to 10 years at once, so you never miss a date.
  6. 6Make sure the name isn’t someone else’s trademarkA registered trademark’s owner can recover the name from whoever registered it first.

  • Yes, once 60 days have passed since it was registered or last transferred. Ask your current provider for the transfer (EPP) code and open a transfer request with us; a full year is added to the domain’s term.

  • We remind you by email 31 days and 8 days before expiry, and 3 days after it. After expiry the website and email stop, and you can renew in the first eight days at the regular renewal price; from day 10 it may go to auction. If it is deleted and the registry allows redemption within 30 days, the redemption fee is $200 plus a year’s renewal.
