Overview

What is .cool

.cool comes from the English word cool, whose first meaning is “cold,” but which in everyday speech means “great” or “nice.” It speaks to youthful brands, playful projects and personal sites, and to anyone wanting a light address that makes the reader smile. It was added to the internet’s root in 2014, and IANA’s record names Binky Moon, LLC as the body responsible for it.

Its double meaning opens the door to wordplay: an ice cream shop or an air-conditioning company finds its literal sense in it, and a youthful brand its everyday one. It supports names in Arabic and DNSSEC signing.

We have an offer for its first year, and renewal costs much more. Its tone is informal, so it doesn’t suit a business whose customers want seriousness first; it is less familiar than .com, and some people may take it as a joke.
