Overview

What is .limited

limited is an English word that follows the names of limited liability companies, just as we write “limited liability” after their names in Arabic. So it suits a company registered in that form that wants its web address to be an extension of the official name its papers and contracts carry.

.limited entered the internet’s root in 2014, is run by Binky Moon, LLC, and supports DNSSEC signing and names in Arabic letters. With us its price is the same for the first year and every renewal. It has a shorter extension with the same meaning, .ltd, the word’s abbreviation written after company names.

Because it names a legal form, it suits a company that truly has that standing; for anyone else, its address says what isn’t there. It is longer than .ltd and less widespread than .com, so register your name in it along with .ltd if you find it free, so whoever types the abbreviation reaches you.

Who it suits

For your field: is .limited the best fit?

Every field has an extension that says something about it. Here is what .limited says in each, and which extension completes it.

  • A limited liability company

    Excellent · The first choice

Its official name and its web address in the same word, so a partner reads its standing from the address.

    Register it with.limited.ltd

  • A limited liability company in Oman

    Good · A good fit

Its standing on its papers in Oman is the same in its address, so a partner abroad reads it with no translation.

    Register it with.limited.company

  • A factory or producer

    Good · A good fit

It says a registered company stands behind the product; .com stays first in an importer’s mind.

    Register it with.limited.com

  • A freelancer or sole trader

    Consider another · Consider .pro

A limited company’s standing on a one-person business says what isn’t there; .pro or .me is truer.

    Register it with.pro.me

  • An association or organization

    Consider another · Consider .org

An association isn’t a limited company; .org says what it is at first sight.

    Register it with.org.community

  • An online store

    Consider another · Consider .store

The customer is looking for a place to buy from, not the company’s legal standing.

    Register it with.store.com

What it does for you

What you gain when you register it

  • Your standing in your address

matahen-salalah.limited says it’s a limited liability company, as its official name does.

  • Seriousness read from the address

The legal form in the address reassures the supplier and the bank before the first message.

  • Email with an official standing

accounts@matahen-salalah.limited on invoices says the sender is a company, not a person.

  • Few names taken

A specialized extension, so your company’s name is easier to find here than in .com.

And where its value shows

In contracts and invoices

The legal standing in every address.

In letters to banks

A registered body, not a person.

On official company papers

An address that matches its official name.

In tenders

The evaluator reads your standing from the address.
