Overview
What is .media
.media comes from the English word media: the means of communication and their forms, image, sound and text. It speaks to anyone who makes or publishes content: a production studio, an advertising agency, a news site or an independent creator. It was added to the internet’s root in 2014, and IANA’s record names Binky Moon, LLC as the body responsible for it.
The extension says your field before your name, so it suits a production company, or a large company’s media section that gathers its photos and press releases in one place. It supports names in Arabic and DNSSEC signing.
We have an offer for its first year, and renewal costs more; work out the following years’ cost before you register. As a new extension it is less familiar than .com to some people, and some mail filters are more cautious with new extensions.

- 1Register .tv if video is your core work.tv names the screen exactly, and .media stays for the whole outlet.

- 3A short name, read as it’s writtenIf it needs spelling out on the phone, it’s too long or too complicated.
- 4No digits or hyphens that need explainingEvery hyphen or digit has to be said, and what has to be said gets forgotten.
- 5Renew automatically, or register for yearsUp to 10 years at once, so you never miss a date.
