Overview
What is .education
The word education is the broadest word in the field: it sets no stage and no kind, so it covers school, university, courses and private lessons. .education entered the internet’s root in 2013 as a new generic extension; it is run by Binky Moon, LLC and supports names in Arabic and DNSSEC signing.
It suits education centers, lessons platforms, curriculum publishers and teachers who gather their lessons on one site, and fits literacy initiatives and support for students who have fallen behind. Because it sets no stage, it has room for work that teaches young and old together, or moves from one stage to the next with its students.
We have a first-year offer, and renewal costs a little more. Many people know it less well than .com, the word is somewhat long, and it doesn’t say you grant a qualification, so put your city’s name before it if your students are in Jordan, so they know from the address that you’re close to them.

Every field has an extension that says something about it. Here is what .education says in each, and which extension completes it.

Register it with.education.online
A teacher sharing lessons

Good · A good fit
It states its field, and .org says it’s not for profit.
Register it with.education.org

Tips
Before you register
- 1The subject or stage before the extensionThe word is broad, so say before it what you teach: math, a language or exam preparation.
- 2A subdomain for each curriculumIf you publish more than one curriculum, a subdomain for each makes the student’s way easier.
- 3A short name, read as it’s writtenIf it needs spelling out on the phone, it’s too long or too complicated.
- 4No digits or hyphens that need explainingEvery hyphen or digit has to be said, and what has to be said gets forgotten.
- 5Renew automatically, or register for yearsUp to 10 years at once, so you never miss a date.
- 6Make sure the name isn’t someone else’s trademarkA registered trademark’s owner can recover the name from whoever registered it first.
