Overview

What is .fashion

.fashion comes from the English word fashion. It speaks to fashion designers, tailoring houses, clothing stores and factories, fashion bloggers and writers, and those who stage fashion shows. It was added to the internet’s root in 2014, and IANA’s record names Registry Services, LLC as the body responsible for it.

Its meaning is narrower and more precise than .style: whoever reads it knows you work in clothing specifically. With us its price is the same in the first year and at every renewal, so there’s no surprise after the first year, and it supports DNSSEC signing.

But it takes no names in Arabic letters, so the house’s name is written in Latin. Its word is longer than .com, and someone who rarely writes in English may stumble over its spelling; write it out for them rather than just saying it.

Who it suits

For your field: is .fashion the best fit?

Every field has an extension that says something about it. Here is what .fashion says in each, and which extension completes it.

  • A fashion house or designer

    Excellent · The first choice

The house’s name then .fashion says the field exactly, and suits a new collection every season.

    Register it with.fashion.com

  • An online clothing store

    Good · A good fit

It says what you sell; .shop adds that you’re a store taking orders.

    Register it with.fashion.shop

  • A tailor or workshop in Oman

Good · A good fit with .com

.fashion says the craft, and your customer in Oman types .com when looking for the workshop by name.

    Register it with.fashion.com

  • A fashion blog

    Good · A good fit

The subject is in the extension, and .blog says it’s a blog if you want to say so.

    Register it with.fashion.blog

  • A wholesale garment factory

Good · A good fit with .com

It says the field, but a wholesale buyer trusts .com more on a contract and an invoice.

    Register it with.com.fashion

  • A beauty salon

    Consider another · Consider .style

A salon sells a look, not a garment; .style is broader and closer to it.

    Register it with.style.com

  • $40 a year, for the first year and every renewal: the price you see when you search, with no other fees at registration.
