Overview

What is .ltd

Ltd is short for limited, and it is written after the names of limited liability companies in many countries, just as we write “limited liability” after their names in Arabic. So it suits a company registered in that form that wants a short address carrying its standing wherever it appears: on the invoice, the packaging and the card.

.ltd entered the internet’s root in 2015, is run by Binky Moon, LLC, and supports DNSSEC signing and names in Arabic letters. With us its price starts with a first-year offer, and renewal costs more. Its meaning is the same as .limited, but it is much shorter, so it keeps the whole name short.

Because it names a legal form, it suits a company that truly has that standing; on anyone else it says what isn’t there. Someone who doesn’t know the abbreviation may read it as letters with no meaning, so if your customers are the general public, register your name in .com too.

Tips

Before you register

  1. 1Register it with .limitedThe abbreviation and the full word, so no one else takes the second copy of your name.
