Overview

What is .finance

The word finance means money, its management and the funding of business, and the extension’s name places your site in that field at first sight. .finance entered the internet’s root in 2014 as a new generic extension; it is run by Binky Moon, LLC and supports names in Arabic and DNSSEC signing.

It suits financial services firms, financial advisers and those who provide financing or accounting to companies. People read it as a statement of financial work, and money is a field where visitors need reassurance, so it suits those who actually do this work, and misleads if anyone else holds it.

We have a first-year offer, and renewal costs more. Many people know it less well than .com, and some are wary of financial links whose extension they don’t know, so register your company’s name in .com too, so your customers in Lebanon find you by what they’re used to typing.

Who it suits

For your field: is .finance the best fit?

Every field has an extension that says something about it. Here is what .finance says in each, and which extension completes it.

  • A financial services firm

    Excellent · The first choice

It names your field with a word everyone knows, and .com completes it for those who type your name without an extension.

    Register it with.finance.com

  • An independent financial adviser

    Good · A good fit

An address in your name presents your work, and .expert introduces you as someone with expertise.

    Register it with.finance.expert

  • Project financing in Lebanon

Good · A good fit with .com

A project owner types .com out of habit, and .finance says what you offer; your city’s name before it says you’re close by.

    Register it with.com.finance

  • A finance app or wallet

    Good · A good fit

It states the purpose in the address, and .app says it’s an app to download.

    Register it with.finance.app

  • A personal finance blog

    Good · A careful fit

It names your topic clearly, but visitors may take it for a finance company; so say on its first page that it’s a blog.

    Register it with.finance.blog

  • An online store

    Consider another · Consider .store

Money in a store’s name suggests financial work you don’t offer; a trade extension is clearer to your buyer.

    Register it with.store.com

What it does for you

What you gain when you register it

  • Your field in the address

Visitors know from the link they’re facing financial work, before they read the company’s name.

  • Email that presents your work

info@tamweel-beirut.finance tells whoever receives it that the message comes from a body working in finance.

  • Short names still free

Common financial words were taken in .com long ago, and you may find many of them free here.

  • Your name protected

Register your company’s name in .finance before someone else uses it for a page impersonating you.

And where its value shows

In financing contracts

An address that shows the field beside the signature.

In client emails

Email whose source is known before it’s opened.

In reports

A link fit for the company’s figures and reports.

In search results

Shows its field before the click.

Tips

Before you register

  1. 1Guard your name against impersonationRegister your company’s name in other extensions too; a page impersonating a financial firm harms its clients.
  2. 2Sign your name with DNSSECSigning makes forged DNS answers for your address harder, and money clients deserve that protection most.
  3. 3A short name, read as it’s writtenIf it needs spelling out on the phone, it’s too long or too complicated.
  4. 4No digits or hyphens that need explainingEvery hyphen or digit has to be said, and what has to be said gets forgotten.
  5. 5Renew automatically, or register for yearsUp to 10 years at once, so you never miss a date.
  6. 6Make sure the name isn’t someone else’s trademarkA registered trademark’s owner can recover the name from whoever registered it first.

After expiry the website and email stop, and you can renew in the first eight days at the regular renewal price; from day 10 it may go to auction.
