Overview
What is .life
.life comes from the English word life. It speaks to bloggers of daily life, travel and family, to life and daily-habit coaches, to brands selling a way of living, and to anyone telling their story. It was added to the internet’s root in 2014, and IANA’s record names Binky Moon, LLC as the body responsible for it.
A short, warm word people know, it stretches to everything personal and human, and reads with the name before it as if one phrase. It supports names in Arabic and DNSSEC signing, so your address can be in the language of your story.
We have a low first-year offer, but renewal is much higher, so work it out before you register. Its broad meaning doesn’t say on its own what you offer, so let the name before the dot say it; and some mail filters are stricter with cheap new extensions.

Tips
Before you register
- 1Make the name and the word one phraseA name that reads with life as one meaning is remembered faster.

- 3A short name, read as it’s writtenIf it needs spelling out on the phone, it’s too long or too complicated.
- 4No digits or hyphens that need explainingEvery hyphen or digit has to be said, and what has to be said gets forgotten.
- 5Renew automatically, or register for yearsUp to 10 years at once, so you never miss a date.
- 6Make sure the name isn’t someone else’s trademarkA registered trademark’s owner can recover the name from whoever registered it first.
