Overview
What is .xyz
.xyz entered the internet’s root in 2014, and its name is the last three letters of the Latin alphabet. It carries no business, professional or geographic meaning, and that is what lets it fit any project: a startup, an app, a personal site, or an experiment that hasn’t taken shape yet.
.xyz asks for no documents and no conditions, and it supports names in Arabic and DNSSEC signing. Because it is newer than the classic extensions, short words that were registered in .com years ago are still free here, so you find your name as you want it, with no digits or hyphens.
But the first-year offer doesn’t last: renewal costs much more, so count the cost of the years ahead before you register. Some people don’t know it yet, and some mail filters are stricter with cheap new extensions, so don’t make it your only email address for a business that relies on trust.
