Overview

What is .trade

trade is an English word for commerce, and it also means a craft or a line of work. It suits wholesalers and import-export offices, the middlemen between factories and shops, and whoever trades between cities and countries and wants their address to say so before anything else the customer reads.

.trade entered the internet’s root in 2014, is run by Elite Registry Limited, and supports DNSSEC signing, but it doesn’t support names in Arabic letters. With us its price is the same for the first year and every renewal, and it is among the lowest on our whole list, so its cost won’t worry you.

What to know, plainly: some mail filters are stricter with cheap new extensions, .trade among them, so some of your messages may land in the spam folder. So keep your main business email on .com, and .trade as an address to be read and remembered.

Who it suits

For your field: is .trade the best fit?

Every field has an extension that says something about it. Here is what .trade says in each, and which extension completes it.

  • A wholesaler

    Good · A good fit

It states your line of work in one word at little cost; your email is safer on .com.

    Register it with.trade.com

  • Import and export

Good · A good fit with .com

A supplier abroad understands the word, but trusts .com more in correspondence.

    Register it with.com.trade

  • A trader in Egypt

Good · A good fit with .supply

    Register it with.trade.supply

  • A craftsperson or tradesperson

    Good · A good fit

The word also means a line of work; .pro says you’re a professional at it.

    Register it with.trade.pro

  • A consumer store

    Consider another · Consider .shop

Whoever buys for their home looks for a store, not a wholesaler.

    Register it with.shop.store

  • A financial trading platform

    Consider another · Consider .com

Trust is the first thing asked for here, and .trade is weaker than .com with people and mail filters.

Contact support
  • $10 a year, for the first year and every renewal: the price you see when you search, with no other fees at registration.

  • Anyone, person or organization, from any country, with no documents or conditions; the contact details in the owner’s name just need to be accurate.

  • Yes, once 60 days have passed since it was registered or last transferred. Ask your current provider for the transfer (EPP) code and open a transfer request with us; a full year is added to the domain’s term.

  • We remind you by email 31 days and 8 days before expiry, and 3 days after it. After expiry the website and email stop, and you can renew in the first eight days at the regular renewal price; from day 10 it may go to auction. If it is deleted and the registry allows redemption within 30 days, the redemption fee is $200 plus a year’s renewal.

  • No. IANA’s repository of internationalized names (IDN) holds no Arabic table for .trade, so names in it use Latin letters, digits and hyphens.
